We asked ourselves: does the blogosphere really need another Mommy (or parenting) blog?
Of course not. While there exists no official tally, consider that the
Mom Bloggers Club, one of at least one dozen blog networks that share audiences and advertisers, counts 23,000 members.
So how will Diaper Times — a blog launched by a company developing apps to keep track of and measure child development — be any different?
(By the way, we mean no disrespect to Mommy bloggers: you have changed not only the way that consumers share information but also the publishing industry itself. Please keep doing what you’re doing!)
Gunnar Wold, founder of Oogababy, felt that there was a gap in the market for child development tracking apps. Parents have no shortage of options to record their children’s growth — photo apps, list builders, scrapbooking, among others — but could there be a way to track these milestones privately and securely?
Further, could there be some analytical goodies thrown in? After all, who doesn’t like an app that can make sense of data and make a few predictions?
Yes, and Oogababy was born.
This blog will seek to present interesting topics in parenting, as both parents (and children) are filled with so much wonder in the early years.
We hope to capture some of the joy and spirit of watching children growing up. Oogababy’s apps can serve as a destination to record and maintain these milestones and our blog will reflect our observations and discoveries along the way as our audience and user base grows.
Please join us in our journey!
